Sesame Street Turns 40!

Many of us grew up watching and learning from Sesame St. and so have our children! The show premiered on Nov .10, 1969. Even though master puppeteer Jim Henson is no longer with us some of the same people he hand picked for the original cast on the show are STILL working.

Take Big Bird - this beloved 6ft tall bright yellow bird hasn't changed much since the beginning because he is still brought to life by the same person who made us fall in love with him in 1969! Caroll Spinney was 35 when he first started on Sesame St. and will be 76 at the end of this year - he continues to bring the beloved yellow bird to life for the Sesame St. viewers... talk about longevity!

Sunny days will always sweep clouds away and on a street where a Count - teaches you how to "count", a cookie monster is your best friend and a big yellow bird leads a cast of all kinds of characters we know this street will continue to entertain and educate the coming generations.
