JAZMINE SULLIVAN TAKING A BREAK

Twitter offers "celebrities" a voice of validity and Jazmine Sullivan used her Twitter account to announce her plans to retire from the music industry stating:

“i’m making an official announcement that i am taking a break from music. i’m trying to figure out who i am… w/out a mike, paper or pen,” tweeted the 23-year-old. “i promised myself that when it wasn’t fun anymore i wouldn’t do it. and here i am. i’m not saying i wont ever sing again in my life becuz i dont believe that. but in this moment… rt now… i got some things to figure out.”

She also thanked her fans for their support and helping her boost her confidence. She later deleted the tweets and returned to Twitter stating:

“i’m fine everyone. just switching things up a bit till i get it right,”

 Jazmine Sullivan just released her sophomore album, Love Me Back which is in stores now.

SHARING IS NOT ALWAYS CARING

I'm not sure about you but I make a frequent habit of checking and updating my facebook privacy and account settings. It seems as though the social network site as well as many others are always updating their policies as well as what they will and will not share voluntarily and what I have to manually opt out of. There are certain things that I do not feel that people need to know. Not that I am hiding anything but analysts say there are certain things we can and do reveal through social media that can make us susceptible to identity theft and actual physical theft and harm. I suggest you check your settings, see what your friends and what random people (who are not your friends) can see and have access to - you maybe surprised what you are opening yourself up to. The article [after the jump] I found interesting because a few of the "do nots" I can't lie I have done and did without thinking. For example posting statuses that indicate where and when I am leaving for vacation [I'm sure we have all done that at least once], which can clue thieves into when you may not be home or when you may not be logging into your facebook or other accounts for awhile. Meaning, if they hacked you at that time you may not know for several days while you are enjoying vacation bliss or they can choose to actually rob you while you are not home. After the jump is a great article with six things you should not reveal on social networking sites, do you have any?

GOOGLE WAVE IS HISTORY

I remember when I first heard about Wave - a new product from internet giant Google. After watching the promotional video and reading about what all it would do I was excited lol. No more having to always sit in meetings that took 3 weeks to schedule because everyone who needed to attend are so busy. I believe Shené and I have perfected the use of the video chat to conduct meetings as needed between us and BLAKstar staff but we always had something missing. We needed an afforable (if not free) interactive application or software, where we could change the document or whatever we were working on in real time and all those with access to the chat could as well. Google Wave  was what we had been looking for - that and much more. It hooked us in with it's promises of real time editing features for what you were working on as well as it recorded everything with in the video chat so that people who could not make it to the scheduled meeting could come back hit play and watch what they missed, then add notes, changes, updates and their own video message and it would be there for everyone to see. Exciting right? Sadly it wasn't the easiest thing to do. The navigation of the application wasn't the easiest and getting it to do what it said it would proved to be frustrating at times. It was a great thought and I think someone will actually make this happen but the question is who?  Facebook?

(CNN) -- Google this week abandoned "Wave," its much-hyped social collaboration tool. Wave was perhaps the prototypical Google product: Technically advanced, incredibly ambitious and near-impossible to use.

Its demise is the canary in the coal mine for Google's social networking plans: Facebook is destined to build the Web's next wave, as Google continues to tread water.

Wave was a testament to Google's technical prowess: A real-time communication platform that combined elements of instant messaging, e-mail and collaboration software. The only problem: With its many dials and switches, mastering Wave was the web equivalent of programming your VCR.
