What's up everyone? I just have a quick blurb for you then it's on to posting the goods! If you were anywhere in Columbus other than Summer Jam 614 at Skully's on High St. this past Friday night, sorry for you! You missed it! Who says C-bus has no talent? This show proved that Columbus Talent is WORLD CLASS talent. These acts put it down to say the least. Here are some of the flix from my cam (MeaLee) Shene will be posting all the footage soon as I will post some more videos I took. Summer Jam is only the beginning. Columbus is a force to be reckoned with.

BLAKstar Wednesday: First Annual Women's Poetry and Performance Retreat & Summer Jam 614

Tonight BLAKstar has the honor to speak with the creator of the Hope Springs Institute First Annual Women's Poetry and Performance Retreat and Fundraiser: Chauncey Beaty and many of the workshop leaders and moderators such as world reknowned poet Rachel McKibbens.

Chauncey in short is: Nothing and Everything. Art and Absence. Life and Death. Beauty and Repulse. Scholar and Idiot. Love and Disgust. Rare and Universal. Forever and Never. Punk and Assassin. Bliss and Wisdom. ALL that is in between...ALL that ever was...ALL that ever will be.

The Retreat scheduled for July 16-19th - (there are still a few spaces available.)

Performance July 19th - Jessica Care Moore , Sunni Patterson, Gina Loring, Alice Lovelace, Rose Smith, Rachel McKibbens, Rosemary Daniell, Chauncey Beaty and morebat the Lincoln Theater - 77 E. Long St Columbus, Ohio - 2:30 pm - $25




If you are in the Columbus, Ohio area...SCRATCH THAT...You NEED to make your way to Columbus Ohio to listen to some real Hip Hop artists at the Summer Jam 614. The line up in no particular order is as follows: The 3RD, J. Osceola, B. Yonest, Skeptik, Daniele, Young Wise, Kadiz, Cridie Mack, Debonair, Blaze. The event will be hosted by Elevator Music's own Rashad and BLAKstar affiliate DJ Krate Digga will be apart of the event. You know Mea and I (Shené) will be doing some backstage interviews.
