SAMSUNG TO RELEASE iPAD COMPETITOR

Samsung will be releasing their version of a tablet - The Galaxy Tab first in European markets followed by many other of Samsung's main markets. The Galaxy Tab runs on the android operating system and is virtually a larger version [7 inch screen] of Samsung's lead smart phone the Galaxy S.

Unlike the iPad Galaxy will have cellphone capabilities -very interesting (in my mad scientist voice lol). Although  no price tag has been set, the new device is rumored to be lower than the iPad in the $200-$300 range as well boasts the newest version of Adobe Flash - something iPad does not have. As we all know no Flash means limited viewing of websites and videos online.

HP "SLATE" vs MAC "iPAD"

So it hurt my heart that iPAD has NO USB ports, no memory card reader and for what I needed it for virtually is just an over sized iPhone - you just can't make calls. It even runs on the iPhone OS (operating system) - this made me extremely sad. I LOVE MAC but I feel that the iPad was rushed. Now enter in it's opponent HP's Slate - from the specs and info I have heard about it.. I think I might be getting the Slate and not the iPad (shhh I know made me sad all over again). I need MAC to step it up - why no USB ports? what if I want to hook stuff up to it - not everything is wireless at this point. DANG I can't even  hook up my iPod *sucks teeth*. Check out the specs below, and if you end up getting a slate please let us know what you think about it. :)

NEW: APPLE iPad

Today apple unveiled another new gadget, the "iPad." Basically a cross between a giant iPod Shuffle, Kindle, and basic computer, the iPad has many functions.
The iPad will be set to go in March for Wi-Fi models, and April of this year for the 3G models, but will be bringing a hefty price tag with it. Prices start at $499, but that is only for the most basic model.

I personally think they could have added a webcam for video chatting,  picked a better name, and of course, lowered the price a bit.
