Day of Silence for 2010 is tomorrow, April 16th.
The day is observed by lesbian / gay / bisexual / transgendered people (LGBT) and their allies to heighten the awareness of the silence that LGBT people must adhere to everyday in avoidance of conflict or harassment. Most who observe the day are students who are against the bullying and anti-LGBT actions they witness in their daily learning environment.
The website that offers information on the day also gives advice on how to make it through the day and offers supplies to make minimal conversation more possible.
