LFO's Rich Cronin Passes Away at 35

It's always sad to hear that someone has passed away. No matter how popular they were to you or the ones around you. Sometimes it's not always apparent that a person is dealing with something internally. It is not always announced if there is a problem. In this case I personally was shocked. I remember being in high school, well just finishing up my freshman year when LFO's smash single "Summer Girls" was released. Even though the versus' of the song was very comical at times, the song was very catchy from start to finish. LFO was making their entry into the pop genre when the 90's teeny boppers were in pop boy group heaven with group such as, The Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, Otown, 98 Degress, etc all battling it our persay for the hottest pop boy group. Even though their musical present wasn't long, they still reached many young girlhearts. This past Wednesday LFO once Blonde hair hottie passed away from Leukemia, according to CNN. CNN reports that Cronin was diagnosed in 2005. He did undergo chemo but soon the disease returned in 2007. Blakstar sends their condolences to the Cronin family. Enjoy Rich and the rest of LFO in their hit video "Summer Girls."

T.I. and Tiny Arrested On Drug Charges????

Video from the Chicago Tribune

T.I and Tiny was arrested this past Wednesday evening, when a police officer pulled them over, and found alleged smell of marajuana in the vehicle. They were taken in and later released on Thursday on a $10,000.00 bail. T.I. is currently on a 3 yr probation and really wouldn't do him any justice right now for any additional charges. Since his release he was already released some hit singles and recently released his latest movie, Takers, which has been a hit in the Box Office since last friday. Will T.I. have to face jail time again or will we see back on the charts soon?

Starting a new generations of fresh voices and styles maybe what we need to keep our women of hip hop on the forefront or,  maybe we will relive this void once again.

Jersey Shore...No More... Some Wish

The fire is burning and doesn't seem to be going out for MTV's latest reality show Jersey Shore. MTV is currently on Season 2 bringing back the original cast members after skyrocking ratings from the previous year. A little background on the show is they brought together 8 strangers all of Italian decent from the Jersey/Staten Island/Rhode Island area to spend the summer under one roof, in hope to survive and work together. They  are all young adults over the age of 21 trying to enjoy their summer on the shore, and currently now in Miami for Season 2. Like many of MTV's shows there will arise times when a group if not all individuals in the house will run into issues with each other. Their actions unfortunately not always the great but in the end it is a reflection of who they are.

Cuts To Community Colleges

If things couldn't get any easier for a student wanting to persue a higher education. Nationally Community Colleges are seeing an increase in attendance but a decrease in funding. Due to the low funding many schools had to cut a decent amount of classes, which in turn resulted in over populating the classes they do have. Schools are faced with the option to limit the amount of students enrolled until more funding comes in.

Students have chose to attend Community Colleges for the low cost, compared to a 4-yr college, and as a perfect place for our adult students to get re-trained in different areas, to expand their skills, as they move to different job positions in the job market. The school officials are trying to accomodate as many students as possible, but are limited and what they can do.

Funding has always been issue regarding our youth. Will government officials finally re-evaluate our education budget and overall issues, so they can possibly be addressed?
