BLAKstar Spotlight: trU-Rrt

This event will not only exude a true appreciation for the arts, but will also serve as a two-fold opportunity for charitable giving within the local community. Approximately 50% of the proceeds will be given to a young African American student of the Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD) to assist them in such financially straining times as these. Despite the hardships we face as a community, students are in need of assistance. Thus, trU-Rrt is here to bring individuals in the art community together to provide for the budding artist that would have no other way to continue work with adequate supplies. In return, the student will display their continued dedication to the arts, by volunteering their time to mentor youth within the local community that also share like passions for varied forms of art.

Shé Petite’s trU-Rrt Auction and Networking Event is marketed towards lovers of the arts who are seeking partnerships, collaborations, additional contacts within the art community, opportunities for giving, and those with the desire to indulge in the aesthetic experience of true art. There will be approximately four (4) local artists showing their work, networking both before and after the auction. Attendance will also serve as a great opportunity to be a part of one of the few events in the Columbus area which will bring a diverse group of individuals together for the enhancement of African American art; giving to its rising artists. In addition to the above-mentioned, there will be a raffle drawing of prizes provided by community sponsors.
